New BlackBerry KEY2 LE 64 GB
This year has been the most fruitful for BlackBerry. In January, at CES2018 in Las Vegas, BlackBerry Mobile unveiled a bronze version of the BlackBerry KEYone. In early summer, at a presentation in New York, we saw the new BlackBerry KEY2 in two versions at once - black and silver. And on August 30, at a special event that took place as part of the IFA2018 exhibition in Berlin, the company showed three versions of the BlackBerry KEY2 LE in new colors: Slate, Champagne and Atomic.
The new smartphone is a budget version of the BlackBerry KEY2 and in its design, to a certain extent, a transitional model between KEY2 and last year's KEYone. It is intended for those who love the KEYone's design but would like a range of KEY2 features, as well as those looking for a more budget-friendly device. Like the KEY2, the KEY2 LE has a dual camera and keyboard that is virtually identical in design to the KEYone keyboard.
In the opinion of many - BlackBerry has always been a company that produced business devices made of expensive mate New BlackBerry KEY2 LE 64 GB rials or at least imitations of them, but this is not entirely true. Yes, Bold's flagship line of business devices has always been different. The BlackBerry 9000 Bold had a chrome-plated plastic edging and a leather-like back panel with a metal camera edging, and the BlackBerry 9900 Bold, the first BlackBerry smartphone to receive a stainless steel casing, is a great addition that has passed to top smartphones based on the BlackBerry 10 operating system - Q10. Classic and Passport. But at the same time, back in 2009, the BlackBerry 8500 Curve color phone series was launched, developed after BlackBerry's success with the BlackBerry Pearl 8100 and 8800 series in the consumer market, and it ultimately became one of the most popular BlackBerry device models. ...
BlackBerry experimented with color options for the Curve series, but eventually other business devices such as the Bold and Torch series were released, which became some of the most famous BlackBerry smartphones. However, the company kept the Curve lineup as a cheaper option available to anyone looking to buy a BlackBerry. With the launch of a line of devices based on the BlackBerry 10 operating system, BlackBerry continued to release budget devices with more modest specifications and plastic colored cases with the BlackBerry Q5 series, but later abandoned this practice. Until recently, phones with colored cases were produced as limited editions of the most popular smartphones - BlackBerry Passport Red and BlackBerry Classic Cobalt Blue.
We have at our disposal one of the first BlackBerry KEY2 LEs to go on sale in the UK, a version in Slate color - slate - gray with a slight azure tint, with 32 GB of internal memory and support for one SIM card. Upon closer acquaintance, KEY2 LE turned out to be much more interesting than at first glance. KEY2 LE is a budget version of KEY2, not KEYone, which is significantly ahead in performance.
The new BlackBerry KEY2 LE smartphone has a lot in common with the Curve and Q5 lineup. It also features a polycarbonate body, slightly more modest specifications, and comes in three colors - Atomic, Champagne and Slate. Atomic is a smartphone with a bright scarlet body and keyboard frets, a dark gray back panel and keyboard, Champagne has a golden body, the back panel, frets and the keyboard itself are almost black, and the Slate is completely slate color - gray with a light azure shade. As you can see, despite the bright names, the predominant color in all KEY2 LEs is quite dark. In this they are similar to the late BlackBerry 9300 Curve line.
Like the KEYone and KEY2, the KEY2 LE is a candy bar with a QWERTY keyboard located at the bottom of the display, physical touch keys for operating system control and a 4.5-inch display with an aspect ratio of 3: 4.
The back panel of the BlackBerry KEY2 LE has a rubber coating typical for all BlackBerry smartphones and a new design in the form of circles. The KEY2 LE's rear panel feels significantly softer than other BlackBerry smartphones. In the center is the BlackBerry logo - it is again silver for all models, at the top left - a dual camera and a dual-tone flash. All control keys - the volume buttons, the off / lock key, and the shortcut key are made of aluminum and, like the KEY2, are now on the right side of the smartphone. The power button, which also acts as a quick-launch button for the camera, has received textured grooves so that you can distinguish it by touch. Left -
